Rwanda, Africa

In a remarkable display of cross-border educational cooperation, Bryson Hajee, a passionate advocate for STEM education, embarked on a transformative journey to Rwanda in August 2023. His mission? To empower local educators with the skills and knowledge required to introduce First Robotics programs into their classrooms. Hajee's dedication to fostering a new generation of innovators through technology education took him to the heart of Africa, where he conducted an intensive training program for five Rwandan teachers.

Hajee's journey to Rwanda was marked by a sense of purpose and a deep commitment to enhancing STEM education opportunities for students in the region. First Robotics, a globally recognized program that combines science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with real-world problem-solving, was his vehicle for change.

During his visit, he engaged with five dedicated Rwandan teachers, equipping them with the tools and skills needed to implement First Robotics in their classrooms. Hajee emphasized the importance of inspiring students to explore the fascinating world of robotics and problem-solving through hands-on experiences.

One of the teachers, Jeanine Uwase, expressed her excitement about the training. "Bryson's visit was a game-changer for us. The First Robotics program will not only enhance our students' problem-solving skills but also open doors to career opportunities in STEM fields. We are grateful for his dedication and passion for education."

Another participant, Francine Niyonshuti, commented on the training's impact. "The training provided by Bryson has completely transformed our approach to teaching. Now, we can make learning more interactive and exciting for our students. It's not just about robotics; it's about empowering the next generation of innovators."

Hajee's dedication to global education was evident during his visit to Rwanda. He stressed the importance of cross-cultural collaboration in advancing education. "Education knows no borders, and every student, regardless of their background, should have access to quality STEM education. By introducing First Robotics to these teachers, we hope to inspire and equip students to tackle real-world challenges using STEM."

Rwanda has made significant strides in recent years in promoting STEM education, and Bryson Hajee's contribution is poised to further advance the nation's educational landscape. His mission to empower teachers will, in turn, empower countless students, fostering innovation and problem-solving abilities that can shape Rwanda's future.

As Hajee concluded his training, he looked forward to seeing the ripple effects of this initiative. "The teachers are the heart of education. By equipping them with the knowledge and resources to nurture young innovators, we can create a brighter future for Rwanda."

Bryson Hajee's journey to Rwanda not only marked a personal commitment to education but also showcased the potential for international collaboration in advancing STEM education worldwide. With dedicated educators like those trained by Hajee, Rwanda's students are poised to make a significant impact in the world of robotics and beyond.
